Silence = Compliance
If you can read this and STILL not want to do something about the way we talk about each other, think about each other, look at each other and act around each other, then there is something seriously wrong with you. (Language warning)
University of Maryland – Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
I’m not even gonna repeat what the idiots who defended him said. Corday Thomas and Alex Twine…If I was your mama, you’d be getting a shoe upside the head right now. Sit your tail down boy, don’t you never let no one talk about your Black sisters like that!
And I will say that anyone who thinks that this boy has a “good heart,” will never, ever, ever date one of my daughters. Never. Because you are a huge threat to all women of color. ALL OF THEM.
To see something written that so openly sexualizes women of color, saying that unless they are “hot,” they can’t come to any events, is sickening. And taking the entire email in context, we all know what these “hot” girls of color are being brought to the party for. SMDH.
Here we go again….on college campuses. That bastion of higher learning in America. Or is it just someplace that is taking our money while our girls get raped?
I am sending my oldest daughter to college next year. She’s a strong, confident Black woman. And she’s a beautiful young lady. This is what she has to endure to get an education?
Someone please tell me when this will be over. Someone please tell me when this will stop.
I am quite confident that the young ladies of color at the University of Maryland have done nothing to be looked at in this manner. Our young women who are exercising their right get an education – something that is denied to women in other parts of the world that we in the U.S. consider “backward”.” This is how our young ladies are talked about, thought about and looked at..
Again, these young men are college students… UNIVERSITY students…. our future leaders… when do we start demanding that they do better? When do we start demanding that they ARE better?
Our young women in college deserve better. They deserve that we stand united with them to fight this culture that is pervasive on college campuses, and by extrapolation, in our greater society.
